Failure to Launch Movie Story - Synopsis. McConnaughy and Parker star in this comedy about a slacker still living at home, and the woman who's about to change his life. Paula (Parker from SEX AND THE CITY) has a job as an interventionist. What this means is that parents of young men well into adulthood can hire her to date their sons. They approach this talented good looking girl to get him to move out of their house. Tripp has never been able to leave the nest. He's always had some reason or other.
